In keeping with this year's theme for the Environmental Superconference, Reality TV, the Section's web-site has gotten an extreme makeover! Check out the new graphics, layout, and content.

  • You now can find the latest Texas environmental news on our home page. Our news service pulls environmental stories from all over Texas.

  • We have expanded the members-only library on the website. Members now have access not only to the Environmental Law Journal, but also to the Environmental Superconference and other CLE papers. If you have recently written a paper, please send it to us so you can showcase your expertise on the website.

  • The links page is a fantastic resource, with over 100 different links for sites dealing with air, water, waste and more.

If you have been wanting to get involved in the Section, the Section has a great new project. Are you an aspiring columnist? Cartoonist? Journalist? Come help launch the ENRLS e-newsletter. Contact me or Andrew Strong (astrong @cgs-law.com) if you are interested.

Another exciting new program has just been implemented. The Section has awarded internships to two deserving law students, Christopher Smith and Daniel South. Christopher will spend six weeks this summer at the Natural Resources Division of the Office of the Attorney General. Daniel will spend his internship at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The Section also is handing out its Buck J. Wynne Memorial Scholarships. These $500 scholarships are awarded to the high grading student in introductory environmental law classes at Texas law schools. In addition, we were pleased to provide funding for two Texas teams, Texas Tech University School of Law and Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, to compete in the Pace University Environmental Moot Court competition.

We look forward to seeing you on August 5-6 in Austin for the 16th Annual Environmental Superconference.
