There are a variety of opportunities to get involved in our Section. The professional and personal rewards are abundant. Below are some of the examples of how to get involved:
Our Environmental Law Journal
The Environmental Law Journal is the premiere publication of its kind in Texas and the Southwest. Consider writing an article for the journal.
Our Environmental Superconference
The Environmental Superconference, held the first week in August in Austin every year. This conference is probably the most widely attended, well respected and affordable environmental educational program in Texas. Consider getting involved in the organizing committee or volunteering to speak at the program.
Our Professional Development Program
Last year our Professional Development Program in San Antonio focused on Water Law. It was a resounding success. Consider getting involved in the organizing committee or volunteering to speak at advanced Section programs.
Our Law School Outreach
We have a very active program working with the nine Texas law schools. Consider helping plan an environmental seminar at one of the law schools, speaking at one of the environmental seminars, coaching students preparing for an environmental competition, speaking at a meeting of a law school environmental society, or mentoring a student with an interest in environmental law.
The Section encourages all members to get involved and contribute to the Section. You may contact the Section Chair or any of the other Section officers or Executive Committee members for more information. |
