A Photo Tribute to Gregg Cooke

 

"Beatle" Gregg Cooke, then Regional Administrator of Region 6, hands off the microphone to "Beatle" Bob Huston, then Chair of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, during the Thirteenth Annual "Magical Mystery Tour" Environmental Superconference. These two "Beatles" regaled the crowd with a rendition of "Two of Us," including the lyrics, "do it for air."

Gregg was very proud to have convinced several Regional Administrators to tour coastal Louisiana and see first hand the issue of wetlands loss. Needless to say, it rained, and it rained, and it just kept raining...

Gregg was a proud sponsor of redevelopment under the Brownfields program. One of his proudest moments was having EPA Administrator Browner join him to launch the Dallas downtown projects.

Gregg and Texas Commisioner Ralph Marquez shared many moments in working on clean air initiatives in making Texas cities better places to live. Here they are celebrating the accomplishments at the annual Texas Environmental Awards ceremony in Austin.
