As another benefit of being an ENRLS member, in a few days you will begin receiving a new daily online news service from NewspaperClips.com. Each morning you will get by e-mail a summary of environmental news from newspapers across Texas and the country.
A few months ago, the ENRLS introduced the Greenwire online news service, which provides excellent national coverage of environmental issues. NewspaperClips compliments this service by providing more of a local flavor, picking up environmental stories from Texas newspapers big and small, from the Dallas Morning News to the Marble Falls Highlander.
You will be able to quickly scan the stories of the day. There is some redundancy, for instance, as several small papers may choose to run the same national wire service story. To read the full story, you simply click on the link, which takes you to the newspaper’s site.
To ensure that the NewspaperClip emails get through to you (that is, not ending up in your spam or junk email boxes), take these two steps. First, if you have Outlook, you can configure it to add the domain NewspaperClips.com, as follows:
Actions > Junk Email > Add Recipient to Safe Recipient’s List > add the domain “NewspaperClips.com”
Second, have your IT person make sure that any emails sent from NewspaperClips.com are allowed through your firewall and the three NewspaperClips IP addresses are added to your “White List:”
199.44.235.12
199.44.235.11
199.44.235.10
If you do not begin receiving the NewspaperClips e-mails, or if you have any comments or questions, please reply to Connie Westfall at connie.westfall@strasburger.com.
We are very excited to offer this service to you and believe that you will find it a useful tool.
