Registration is now open for the 19th annual Superconference

We know you've been waiting with bated breath. You need wait no longer. Registration is open for the 19th Annual Texas Environmental Superconference!
Inspired by Academy Award Winning movies, this year's conference is entitled "An Oscar Winning Performance," and will be held on Thursday and Friday--August 2-3, 2007-- in Austin at the Four Seasons Hotel. Continuing a tradition begun two years ago, the primer, entitled "Environmental Law 101--Training Day," will be held on Wednesday evening, August 1. The program brochure is attached.
Featured speakers this year include Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ("TCEQ") Chairman Kathleen White, TCEQ Commissioner Buddy Garcia, and, from EPA Headquarters, Granta Nakayama, Carol Holmes, Howard Hoffman, and Scott Sherman, in addition to many other high level representatives from TCEQ and EPA Region 6 and from the private and public sectors.
Topics include legislative update ("A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum"), enforcement ("Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon"), water quality ("Finding Nemo"), air quality ("Patch of Blue"), climate change ("Some Like It Hot"), corporate sustainability ("From Here To Eternity"), and risk management and environmental considerations in transactions ("Terms of Endearment"). Other topics include: Brownfields revitalization, nanotechnology, chemical security, case law update, public nuisance, open meetings/open records, and "Bending Science." In addition, there will be a memorial tribute to former EPA Regional Administrator and active Superconference participant, Gregg Cooke ("A Man For All Seasons"). The Wednesday evening primer will provide an overview of environmental law and will include sessions on air and water quality, solid waste and Superfund, and the National Environmental Policy Act ("NEPA").
Registration is available online, where details of the conference and the primer also may be found. Although registrations must be made online, participants have the option of paying online by credit card or by mailing a check, payable to "State Bar of Texas - Texas Environmental Superconference." As you know, the conference is co-sponsored by the State Bar of Texas Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section, the Air & Waste Management Association - Southwest Section, the Water Environment Association of Texas, the Texas Association of Environmental Professionals, The Auditing Roundtable, and the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.

Attend the ENRLS Annual Meeting!
The ENRLS annual meeting will be held August 3rd at noon in the Austin Four Season hotel. The annual meeting is scheduled in conjunction with the Texas Environmental Superconference each year. A vote will be taken on the new ENRLS officers and executive committee members. The Four Seasons hotel is located at 98 San Jacinto Blvd.
The ENRLS Awards Buck J. Wynne Memorial Scholarships
Each year the ENRLS awards a $500 scholarship to the student that makes the highest grade in the introductory environmental law course at the State's law schools.
